LAS VEGAS – Automakers are including high-resolution infotainment shows to the dashboards of their automobiles. BMW CEO Oliver Zipse considers this a mistake and believes the development can be short-lived.
“The primary supply of crashes is driver distraction, not rushing,” Zipse stated in a media briefing at CES 2023.
Zipse says it’s “completely satisfied” that heart console-based shows that require drivers to maintain their eyes on the highway will quickly be a factor of the previous.
“In 10 years that is gone,” Zipse stated. “In all probability the regulator will not enable it.”
