BMW Group boss Oliver Zipse thinks this was a mistake and believes the development will likely be short-lived.
“Driver distraction is the primary supply of accidents – not quick driving,” Zipse mentioned in a media briefing at CES 2023.
Zipse says it’s “completely satisfied” that middle console-based shows that require drivers to maintain their eyes on the street will quickly be a factor of the previous.
“In 10 years that is gone,” Zipse mentioned. “Most likely the regulator will not enable it.”
