
PEMBROKE — A late comeback bid by the Purnell Swett males’s basketball workforce fell quick because the Rams dropped 62-56 in Thursday’s non-conference sport in opposition to Scotland.
After 15 factors, Purnell Swett (4-8) introduced the sport 55-55 with Collin Sampson’s three-pointer with 32 seconds left. Scotland (10-2) took the lead once more after hitting the foul line on the final minute and took the win.
Main the primary quarter 17-14, the Rams completed the second quarter 24-6 and Scotland took a 38-23 lead at halftime. Scots lead the fourth quarter 47-35; Purnell Swett tied the sport with a 20-8 benefit in opposition to the primary 7:28 of the fourth quarter.
Connor Harris led Purnell Swett with 11 factors, whereas Sampson scored 9, Marcus Lowry and Chase McNeill every scored six.
Lamontez Cousar scored 21 factors, Isaac Ferguson 16 and Tashad Russell scored 12 for Scotland.
Woman Rams has a convincing win
The Purnell Swett ladies’ basketball workforce took a 75-47 victory of their non-conference sport in opposition to Scotland on Thursday.
Purnell Swett (11-1) beat Scotland 20-5 (6-5) after the primary quarter, 38-17 at halftime and 56-35 on the finish of the third quarter.
The Rams will play on Friday at South View.
